Discover Thainess in the New Year
Discover Thainess' in the New Year
The Thai government have approved the Tourism Authority of Thailand's (TAT) latest marketing scheme, which emphasizes the Kingdom's unique cultural treasures.
The aim of the new campaign is to increase domestic travel throughout Thailand while also encouraging local communities to cherish their unique cultural treasures.
According to Tourism and Sports Minister, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, the focus is on the distinctiveness of 22 different regions in Thailand, including 10 major tourist attractions, in addition to 12 secondary destinations.
"Thainess can help preserve our culture and generate a positive atmosphere. Foreign visitors, both first-timers and repeat visitors, can also learn from the experience of Thainess,' she said.
The more well known tourist destinations being promoted include Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chon Buri, Surat Thani, Songkhla and Phang Nga. The campaign aims to highlight new destinations to repeat visitors, and to encourage visitors to extend their holidays by several days.
If you are based in Phuket or Surat Thani province, which is home to islands like Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, a private villa is the perfect base to explore the island's local treasures. From sightseeing at local temples and shrines, to visiting museums and other sites of interest around the islands, there is plenty for visitors to do when they are on vacation in Thailand.
In addition to planning active holiday itineraries, guests staying in one of Thailand's private villas can even learn about Thailand's unique culture without leaving the comfort of the property. The spicy, sweet and sour flavours of Thai cuisine are integral to the Kingdom's culture and one aspect that many visitors already savour. Visitors keen on learning more about Thai cooking can learn more from a private chef as he or she prepares an array of tasty dishes.
Thai massage is another unique aspect of the country's culture that can be enjoyed from within a private villa. With the help of a dedicated villa manager, it is easy to hire the services of a professional masseuse to ease the aches and pains that may occur as a result of a long haul flight.
With such a wide selection of luxurious private accommodation available to visitors, it is no surprise that numbers of tourists visiting the Kingdom rose last month.
"We're upbeat that tourism will become more active during the New Year holiday," added Khun Kobkarn. "With a boost from the latest new campaign, the Land of Smiles is likely to attract even more visitors than usual," she added.
