Star-studded Event Celebrates Women’s Journey Thailand 2017
Over 50 female celebrities from across the world recently came together for the launch of the Women’s Journey Thailand 2017 Campaign, reported philstar.com.
Now in its second year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT’s) marketing scheme aims to attract more female visitors to the country by promoting Thailand as one of the most female-friendly holiday destinations in the world.
Tourism officials in Thailand have reported a significant increase in the number of female tourists arriving in recent years and a significant number of women travellers are choosing to stay in one of the country’s luxury private villas, especially those on girls’ getaways.
In addition to the fantastic facilities and locations offered by many of these villas, the selection of exclusive services on offer make the properties stand out as attractive options for female travellers.
Ladies keen to keep fit can make use of fully equipped gyms, and can even hire a professional yoga teacher to come to the villa for a private class. In-villa massage facilities add further appeal for guests who want to enjoy a few pamper sessions during their stay. In-villa dining is also a popular feature that attracts many female travellers. In addition to fully equipped kitchens, many of Thailand’s lavish holiday properties also come with their own private chef, so ladies can enjoy fabulous food on demand.
Discussing the TAT’s marketing campaign, H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, told the press: “It has to be women because in Thailand, women matter. Tourism is not just a matter of figures, or how many people are coming to Thailand. It’s not just a business. Tourism is about people to people, heart to heat, understanding [each other].”
Celebrities at the star-studded event in Bangkok included South Korean star So-Hyn Kim, Indian actress Tanya Sharma, plus members of the Japanese pop group Nogizaga 46. Egyptian fashion icon Hadia Ghaleb, Omani actress Naeema Al Maqbali and beauty queens from Vietnam, China, Myanmar, Australia and the Philippines were also in attendance.
The marketing campaign will focus on addressing the unique needs of female visitors while they are staying in Thailand, honing in on seven different areas of products and services: accommodation; health, beauty and spa services, shopping malls, dining and restaurants, recreation and entertainment, lifestyle activities (including handicrafts workshops and fitness) and transportation services (including airlines and car rentals).
The TAT has even launched the new Women’s Journey Thailand mobile app, which gives users access to a welcome package comprising a free drink from Coffee World, a free seven-day Sim Card with WiFi by DTAC and a THB300 (US$9) discount card by Grab Taxi). Other promotions to come with the app include discounts at certain stores, plus a special airfare for the domestic sector with a THB1,290 (US$39) voucher for Bangkok Airways.
